Additional lockdown restrictions mandated and it has been done with the temporary closure of non-essential shops and businesses all over our country.

To prevent the local spread among the population, the Government has called off for the National lockdown and advised to be at your home and not to come out of your home during these days. You might get bored or think about how can you maintain good health by staying indoors for days. However, even while following the lockdown instructions, you can stay in good health. Here are some health tips which you can follow daily during the lockdown period and enjoy good health.

  1. Exercise daily:

Learn and practice some stretching exercises after you wake up in the morning. It usually boosts the circulation and digestion and eases the back pain to some extent. Do daily exercises at home minimum for about 45 minutes to one hour by making the use of a treadmill, and also perform warming up exercises. Perform yoga exercises and meditation.

  1. Don’t ever skip breakfast:

Studies have always revealed that eating a proper breakfast is one of the most positive things you can do if you have a plan to lose weight. In some studies, it’s observed that Breakfast skippers have chances of gaining weight. A balanced breakfast mainly includes fresh fruit or fruit juice, fiber-rich breakfast cereal, yogurt, whole-wheat toast, low-fat milk, and a boiled egg. So, go for it.

  1. Brush up on teeth hygiene:

Some people don’t know how to brush their teeth properly. Improper brushing can cause damage to the teeth and gums. Lots of people may not brush for long enough, skip flossing, and happen to visit dentists very rarely. So, hold your toothbrush, in the same way, the way you would hold a pencil and brush for at least two minutes every time.

This should include brushing the teeth, the junction of the teeth & gums, and tongue and the roof area (palate) of the mouth. Always use a sturdy, soft-bristled toothbrush that you replace each month without fail.

  1. Neurobics for your mind:

Train your brain by playing some mind games. American researchers have coined the term ‘neurobics’ for tasks that usually activate the brain’s biochemical pathways and develop new functional pathways that will help to strengthen or preserve the brain circuits. Studies have also found that people with increased mental agility have less risk of Alzheimer’s disease and age-related mental decline disorders.

  1. Add calcium to your diet:

Enhance your daily calcium intake by including milk or yogurt in your daily diet. It will help in keeping your bones strong. Always keep in mind that your bone density usually declines after 30 years of age. Daily calcium requirement is at least 200 milligrams, which usually should be combined with magnesium, as simply calcium cannot be absorbed by the body.

  1. Include berries in your diet:

Blueberries, raspberries, & strawberries contain plant nutrients containing anthocyanidins, which are very powerful antioxidants. Blueberries rival grapes in concentrations of the amount of resveratrol which is an antioxidant compound found in red wine. Resveratrol is usually believed to have medicinal properties to protect and fight against heart diseases and cancer.

  1. Have foods that help in maintaining low-stress levels:

Always prefer to have a low blood sugar diet to avoid stress. Try to eat regular, small healthy meals including fruits and veggies. Herbal teas, such as green tea, will also soothe the frazzled nerves. Eating the unrefined carbohydrates, such as nuts & bananas, always helps boost the formation of serotonin, which is another feel-good drug. Also, include dry fruit in your diet, as they too are beneficial to avoid stress.

  1. Increase pure water intake during workouts:

Avoid having soft drinks or energy drinks while exercising or while in exertion. Always be properly hydrated by drinking enough pure water during your workout time. If you are taking soft drinks during the workout times, the body will take glucose from the soft drinks rather than the body fat. The same applies to the intake of sweets and sugar drinks, so avoid them. Having pure water will prevent this from happening and will help you to burn the body fat easily during the workouts.

  1. Burn excess of body fat at regular intervals:

To improve your body fitness quickly and to lose weight, interval training can help. While you are working from home, you can set the treadmill on the interval program, where your speed and workload varies from minute to minute. Take time out of your work schedule and burn your body fat by exercising and running on the treadmill with intervals of rest. Try to repeat this routine way, and you can achieve good results.

  1. Try to stop smoking/drinking habit during lockdown days:

Try to quit the smoking/drinking habit by tapering off the amount you were habituated to and find yourself in a healthier stage after the quarantine period. Always stay healthy.

I hope some of these health tips can help you enjoy good health and good immunity to fight against diseases always and while you are at home during these lockdown days.

Stay Safe and Stay healthy.
